On 28th of May 2015 Dr. Stanley Bill delivered the 12th lecture of Jagiellonian Lectures series: “Distinctive voices: Polish culture in the world”. The event was organized by the Jagiellonian University Polish Research Centre in London, in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in London and the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Bill – an Australian – Polish studies lecturer at Cambridge University, stressed the importance of Polish language teaching in countries other than Poland, interestingly depicting its impact on the rest of the world for centuries in areas including literature, cinema, religion, protest, solidarity, politics, and many others.
This lecture is the latest in a series of Jagiellonian Lectures aimed at promoting Polish culture abroad. University of Cambridge is the third of elite British universities, together with the UCL and the University of Oxford, that has joined the project.
